Unfortunately, the MDA lost one of ours members recently with the passing of Syd Wellings.
Although I never met Syd personally, he
left a strong impression of being a single-minded and outspoken
individual, who had the power of his own convictions. He was clearly a
hands-on man rather than a theorist, and who turned his ideas into
reality. He was evidently proud to be accepted as a full member of the
MDA, as the association was always mentioned whenever his work was
published. It's to my great regret that I never got to know him. From
all of us, go well Syd.
