The 2005 Honorary Membership has been presented to Gerald Kiska. Although a relative newcomer compared to previous recipients, Kiska received the award in recognition of his having promoted a design-led approach from KTM, and for pioneering "edge-design" in two-wheel applications. His influence on current motorcycle styling can be clearly seen on models from manufacturers the world over.
To mark the occasion, Kiska was presented with the Honorary Membership at the MDA's Designers' Night at the Milan Science & Technology Museum, and gave a short seminar illustrating his company's work. The evening's events were sponsored by the computer software group Alias. Previous year's recipients were - 2001 - Massimo Tamburini 2002 - Willie G.
