Roland Sands is an industry leading and award-winning product designer and bike builder for Performance Machine. His newly established brand, Roland Sands Design is making a stylistic statement in both the custom v-twin and sportbike markets. He's been honored with two V-Twin Wheel Designer of the Year Awards, and one V-Twin control design of the year award. Sands holds a strong machine shop background and understanding of shop practices, functions, technologies and procedures. He was honored with both a Chip Foose Award of Design Excellence and holds the Ultimate Biker Build Off Rookie of the Year Award, which was voted on by Sands' peers. Sands is an artist and has a knack for cross bike cultural understanding and application as it applies to the custom V-twin and sportbike world. Sands is recognized as a TV personality with strong ties through the industry in both print and television and in both the custom and racing industries. He has appeared, ridden, tested and/or written for many major magazines in the US and overseas. In 1998, Sands was the AMA 250 GP National Champion and still maintains an infatuation with all forms of motorcycle racing and related technology. He still owns the 250 GP track record at Sears Point and Daytona.
